India, the enchanted country- Essay #Gandhi

The country with mountains, plains, plateaus, desert, hills, waterfalls and snowy mountains, all packed within, is India. This is the seventh largest  country in the world. It is a beautiful country that consists of The Rann of  Kutch, Thar Desert, Himalayan ranges, Deccan Plateaus, Indo Gangetic Plains  and the country which saw the birth of civilizations like the Indus Valley  Civilization, Vedic Civilization. The great two epics Ramayana and  Mahabharata were written by  saints Valmiki and Vedavyasa.

Taking a look at just one state offers so much variety. Places in Rajasthan like Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur are called by various  names. Jaipur for example is called the ‘Pink City’ due to the dominant color scheme of its buildings, Udaipur is known as the  ‘Lake City’ because of its natural lakes and Jodhpur is known as the ‘ Blue City’ because all of the  buildings in the oldest district are painted in a light shade of blue.

India’s national capital is Delhi. It has many monuments like Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and many more. They all have interesting facts behind them. Jama Masjid is  the mosque which Muslims visit to worship during various  festival while Red Fort for celebrating Independence Day etc.

In Porbandhar, Gujrat, the Prime Minister of India pays tribute to our great  freedom fighter Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and along with the whole nation, we also celebrate Gandhi Jayanthi in Porbandhar with great gusto every year.

We also have one of the seven wonders of the wonders of the world that is, Taj Mahal. It’s history goes back to 16th century, when Shah Jahan built this monument, dedicated to his wife Mumtaz.

India has many religious places like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Kashi, Gaya and many more. It also has many picturesque islands like Andaman and Nicobar  and Lakshadweep to name a few.

Not only these wonderful places, India also has, adventure parks, beaches, pilgrimage centers and also one of the highest number of world heritage sites viz Hampi, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Sun Temple, Taj Mahal etc.
