The glorious sound of rain
The aroma of hot tea
The mist on my window pane
The furious waves of sea
God’s coveted boon,
Get ready, it’s the monsoon!
The giggles of the family,
The clothes soaking, oh pity
The glistening sun at noon,
Get ready, it’s the monsoon!
Rejuvenating puddles in the garden
The birth of a new bird,
It gets dark all of a sudden
Everything covered with mud
It’s a leisurely lagoon,
Get ready, it’s the monsoon!
Purple skies overcast
Scorching heat is a thing of the past
It will all be over soon
But till then,
Get ready, it’s the monsoon!
